Raised on Country Music

Howdy Finn & Hazel,
Here is a photo of Lacie (your mother) and Aunt Rebecca, riding "Applejack" at the Fowler Ranch, in Clear Lake, CA. They also enjoyed playing in the barn on the hay stacks, and by the creek behind the barn.
Notice how blonde both of my little girls were "back in the day".

Rebecca's hair started out black & straight when she was born, then it turned into a "towhead" (as in this pic) and finally she went curly...like yours Finn. Your hair is also getting lighter Hazel, and your eyelashes are so pretty...my brown eyed girl.
Lacie (aka Laecee) looked like she was going to have brown eyes when she was a baby, but slowly they changed to be more greenish, like my Mother's eyes. (her Grandmother) My Grandfather, Robert Trimble, (my mother's father) also had green eyes. And now you do too Finn! Both yours, and your mother's eyes could also be called "hazel eyes", and that's your name Hazel!
I can't believe you are almost 10 months old. In two months it will be your FIRST birthday Hazel, and you Finn, will be THREE years old in about three months...WOW!!!
When I was a little girl I was a "tomboy"...loved horses, playing in creeks, barns...and badly wanted to have a horse of my own. Maybe someday you will both love horses too.

I raised my girls on Country music, and to this day they still love it, as well as Bluegrass. My daughters are also very talented...they sing & play many different musical instruments. I wonder if either of you will be musically inclined??
I remember attending every band concert when they went to Camino Elementary school. "Sugarloaf  Fine Arts" summer camp at Sly Park, near Pollock Pines, CA, was another place where they got to be in musical & drama shows. Lacie, was also in the "Marching Band" at El Dorado High School!

I met my husband, Micheal Arvid Roth, (their father) at a Country Western concert in the summer of 1982. It was Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard...I wore a "Bikini" bathing suit because it was such a hot day. The venue was called a "Day on the Green" in San Jose, CA.
Micheal (your Grandfather) and I even got married wearing Country Western attire, in Monterey, CA ~ 1983. I wore a "Gunney Sax" wedding dress, and Micheal wore a Western dress shirt & Cowboy boots. I thought you would like to see a few of photos of us when we got married, since we are your Grandparents. We were MUCH younger back then. Micheal and I eloped...(how romantic!)

Rest in Peace, Arvid Dwyane Roth

Dear Finn and Hazel,
I'm so sorry, and very sad to have to tell you this...your Great Grandfather, Arvid Dwyane Roth, (better known as Whitey) passed away on March 16, 2014 in Campbell, CA.
Whitey was born on Aug. 24, 1933 in Arlington, Minnesota, he was of Scandinavian descent, Finnish and German. He is Lacie and Rebecca's paternal Grandfather.
I have many fond memories of him. Lots of good times spending holiday's together...always friendly, quick to laugh, and crack a joke. We will all miss him very much.

He will be especially missed by his five children that he had when he was married to Marcella in Minnesota, aka Marcie. (Lacie and Rebecca's paternal Grandmother)
