“Dear Finn and Hazel,
I am your Maternal Grandmother, which means that I'm your Mommy’s Mother.
I’m also your Aunt Rebecca’s Mother.
I don’t know what you have been told about me, or if you even know that I exist...
Someday in the future when you discover this blog, you will find out how much I love you both & that your Grandmother dearly wanted to be a part of your lives."

My maternal Grandmother was born on Dec. 8, 1909, and on February 11, 1933 she gave birth to my Mother. Sixty years ago at 5:25 in the morning, my Mother gave me life.

Please, please, never smoke, my dear Grandchildren.
Today I'm officially an old lady, still an avid hiker, wrinkles and all...

Your Grandfather, Mike Roth, turns 60!!!!!!

Dear Finn & Hazel,
I met my husband, Micheal Arvid Roth, (your Grandfather) at a Country Western concert in the summer of 1982 in San Jose, CA. Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard were playing. The venue was called a "Day on the Green" because it was outside on the grass. I went with his sister Patti & her husband, Wayne Wirkkala. There were a few other people with us too. We brought beach towels to sit on, and I wore a bikini bathing suit, because it was such a hot day.
It was pretty much love at first sight for us...
Micheal and I got married wearing Country Western attire, in Monterey, CA 1983. I wore a "Gunney Sax" wedding dress, and Micheal wore a Western dress shirt & Cowboy boots. I thought you would like to see a few of photos of us when we got married, since we are your Grandparents. We were MUCH younger back then. Micheal and I eloped...how romantic! We spent our wedding night at a Victorian B & B with gables, right on the ocean in Pacific Grove, CA after taking pictures at Lover's Point ;-)

Today your Grandfather turns 60 years old, and this summer it will be 35 years since we met. My husband (and father of my children) was "the Love of my Life".
Once upon a time were happy, and very much in love...
Love, Gramma Lynn

Tooth Faerie Video of Fae Diddle Diddle & some Photos

Hi Hazel & Finn,
Your Mommy has a long history with the "Tooth Fairy". When Lacie & Rebecca were little girls living in Camino, I put their Tooth Fairy drawings that they had colored up on their bathroom mirror.
It's a little water damaged, but you can see that Lacie signed hers on the right hand side. When you turn it over there's a story. Maybe someday I'll be able to read it to you...
Colored by Lacie M. Roth
My middle sister Jan, is a dentist...she is Lacie & Rebecca's Aunt.
Dr. Jan Manning used to live in Santa Rosa, CA. She took good care of our teeth when we lived in Petaluma, and when we lived in Camino. (she lives in Michigan now)
Sister Jan & my Father (your Great Grandpa)
Here is a photo collage that I made of me and her son, Greg. I babysat him while Jan and her husband, Mike Manning, went skiing up in Tahoe.

Valentine's Day with my Daughters

Dear Finn & Hazel,
Her favorite Perch
On Jan. 10th my oldest cat, Heidi, died in my arms while I was sitting on my Gramma Meacham's rocking chair. She would have turned 17 years old on March 26, 2016.

Rebecca and I got "Heidi" and "Misty" when we were living in Corralitos, CA. It seems like just yesterday when Rebecca, my Mother, and I went to go pick them up when they were kittens. (sadly, Misty died several years before Heidi)

Rebecca found our very first cat when we lived in Camino, CA and she named her "Lilly". Ever since we had her we've grown to love cats, and
after we tragically lost our beloved Lilly, she left us that legacy...
Farewell sweet kitty cat of mine...
Holly and I miss you very much :-(

Happy Birthday Mommy

I miss spending Valentine's Day with my daughters.
When my girls were little I always gave them each a card, chocolate, and those little heart shaped candies with words of love written on them. Sometimes I would include an age appropriate gift. They loved their little gifts so much that I continued to do it as they grew up. And I saved every single card & gift that they gave to me.
Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are family holidays, so I drove them to my parents house. At their house is where we spent lots of time with my family. Memories of all the holidays we spent together at the home where I grew up are very precious to me.
Some of my Mom's beautiful Christmas decorations
On the other holidays, such as New Year's Eve, Halloween, Saint Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day, etc...we stayed home with just the three of us. I love you both with all my heart, and hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day.
Forever,
Your Gramma Lynn
